My name is Michael Janairo.

One of the first things people ask me when meeting me is about my name. My family name comes from the Philippines, where my father was born. It has been pronounced many different ways. The way my family pronounces it, the “J” is like an “H” and the stress is on the second syllable: ha-NIGH-row.
